MTELpage Lock Out: If MTELserve is not running then MTELpage will not be able to transmit messages. After one minute MTELpage will indicate it is unable to communicate to the server and it will lock the form. Other applications on the PC will be still be operational however. Once MTELserve is running again, MTELpage will be released and the operator can continue from where they were before being interrupted.
MTELserve is designed to run in the background and does not require the operator to interact with the program. It logs all events and errors which are sent back to MTELpage. The above windows are the normal MTELpage window, the MTELserve warning window which appears in the MTELpage window when the server is not functioning, and finally the message indicating the server is operational again. When one of the MTELserve programs fail it will indicate back to MTELpage the reason for the failure. Typical messages will indicate the port is unavailable or there is no dial tone. Sometimes it may report that the server is not responding and this may indicate a LAN based problem if the server is operating on a separate PC.
