Overview:
The Telstra 000 records
are now delivered by TCP. MTEL has produced a test application
which effectively provides the same connection as the Telstra
router in a very simple to use standalone application.
It is a useful tool to
check the operation of the CDAT suite and will also test the
bounds of the record field structure.
The application uses the
same dll's and ocx's as the application suite so it will only
run from systems on which CDAT has been installed.

Operation:
Locate the application
under the Tools directory of the installation disk.
The application is
called ESO 000 IP Generator. When it is started it will appear
as shown below.
Set up the IP:
The port and IP address
defaults to 50003 and 192.168.0.66 on start up.
Enter in these text
boxes the IP and Port for the Telstra address which is receiving
the 000 records. Typically these addresses are 10.4.xx.xx,
consult the Telstra Cisco router documentation for the correct
address. Each site has an address for the CPE (Customer Premise
Equipment) and one for the return gateway. Do not use the
return gateway address. The port is dedicated to 50003 by
Telstra at this point in time.
Connection is not made
until a record is selected on the Single Test Packets frame.
Note the close button.
If the application is unable to connect to a TCP location shown
in the text box, click on close and change the TCP address.
Note also that in this
product the Cycle Packet Control is disabled.
Send a test
record:
Make sure the TelstraIP client is running and the IP has been
selected correctly. To send a record go to the Single Test
Packets frame and select the type of record to send.
There are five record types. These are standard test types
designed by Telstra to test all field sizes and the minimum and
maximum record lengths.
If by clicking on all 5 record types they
appear correctly in the CDAT suite then there is a very high
chance of success that the product is ready for live data.
The results of doing this are displayed
below.
If the record is able to
be sent, a reply will be returned from the TelstraIP Client and
displayed in the response box as shown below.
The date and time stamp
is from the application, the rest is the formatted response
which is normally sent back to Telstra.
The TCP connection is
valid only during the call process and response.
The file import facility
has been disabled in this version of software. To use the file
import go to the documentation and download for this tool.
