MDSUser Table: This table is a list of messaging units which will be delivered by the MDS system. The unique key is PagerID. Though the field is called PagerID it is the id for any device such as a mobile phone number or pager number. If a message is created and the PagerID number does not match an entry in this table then the message is rejected and added to the message log with the appropriate status. The table below is an example of some pager and mobile entries.
There are a large number of fields in this table. The most important ones are Protocol, Network, PType. Protocol tells the OPC Client how to communicate with the carrier. Network is the destination carrier. The network name is a class of networks so in the example above The first entry has a network class of TelstraSMSGSM. This network class is defined in the MDSNetwork table and it defines the primary network, backup network and another set of classes called Port Class. PType defines if the messaging device is full alpha-numeric or Tone Only (i.e. just beep, no message) as some pagers are. Some of the fields are optional and are only used for administrative purposes such as Region, Sector, Description, Capcode, Vehicle. The Priority field is not used at this time.
