1.    Card Descriptions

The picocell is a modular system and uses a set of cards to perform the overall task of paging. Each card performs a dedicated function such as alarming, power supply, encoding, protocol conversion, database maintenance, serial communication and radio frequency generation. Most cards pass information over a synchronous system bus to transmit messages and share system parameters.

Each card has a number preceded with PC (for picocell).

The diagram below shows the generic picocell product. There are many variations though these cards form the basis for a system.
