Message Data Switch The MDS is a collection of applications designed to deliver messages to a variety of carrier services. This is the index to all the MDS Clients. Each application in the MDS suite has a link to information about the application. The client pages then have links to application revision lists and the downloads.
MTELpage Operation over the MDS MTELpage has been modified to operate through the MDS system by operating over the OAD connection. MTELPage runs on a local database in the Comms Centres and creates individual messages which are relayed to the MDS using PagerDEC as the gateway. The MTELpage connection has been employed to deliver turnout messages for two reasons. It provides messaging redundancy for the regions as the MDS will be the main route and the local comms centre dialup facilities will be the backup system. The messaging to Hutchison and SMS to Mobilenet will be quicker as the messages are delivered by direct links to the carriers rather than dialup connections.
